Ahoy, fellow quester.

I have been writing The Museletter to subscribers and friends for many years now, ostensibly offering wit, wisdom and wiles to help you be a more effective imposter within the mythical “future of leadership”.

Much of what you find on this site is a front—the real magic must be smuggled in. And The Museletter is one of the main ways I do this.

The Museletter comes to you (via raven) from the quiet and cosy candlelit atelier of my wizard tower, which rests within the heart of an owl-laden dark forest (home to psionic fennec foxes and verdant moss), atop a floating island amidst a hidden pocket of time-space folded deep within the noösphere. I refer to my ravens as The Unkindness, which is surely ironic.

My work tends to resonate with fellow infinite players, rogue scholars, spellcasters, sensemakers, complexity practitioners, theory artists, systems poets, and liminal questers (along with the various sleeper agents nestled within large enterprises).

This may appeal to *you* if:

  • you are looking to build influence and develop as a ‘leader’, knowing full-well how hollow and self-serving this might sound—and yet, humbly: you seek a meaningful equivalent;

  • you relish in ‘both/and’ paradox—you don’t mind the odd bit of magical realism, ironic sincerity, future nostalgia, true fiction and knowing naïveté;

  • you enjoy the occasional bout of linguistic periphrasis, and have discernment enough to distinguish between artificial intelligence and animate wisdom;

  • you prefer intellectual honesty to charismatic hucksterism (and you are deeply suspicious of neat narratives, quick fixes and bold conviction);

  • you know that ‘genuine thought leadership’ is suspect and counter-intuitive to conventional narratives—but hoho: you consider it anyway (knowing that—with curiosity, courage and meta-rational wit—you may be able to assimilate such thinking into a form that is both useful and apt);

  •  you are willing to join me in occasional forays into the dark forest beyond the liminal web;

  • you care deeply about the flourishing of all-of-Life on this planet we share;

  • you are wary of the alluring ensnarement of MØŁØĊĦ and its perverse incentives and myriad multipolar traps;

  • you’ve an appetite for both mild and profound heresy, and respect for the mythopoetic role Trickster plays in facilitating transformation and change;

  • you have a penchant for the magical, mythical, and mystical—and are willing to explore the more-than-rational realms that lie beyond the penumbra; and/or

  • you likewise seek to co-create a world more curious and kind (and a future less grim).

I can’t promise you ‘Instant Ultra Success’—but it may well be that The Museletter offers insight to help you be more effective amidst complexity, ambiguity and change. Maybe.

I should also note: we are—all of us—questing together amidst the metacrisis, in a time betwixt worlds. The consequences of our actions have never been higher, in all the history of humanity. Can we somehow collectively course-correct from this self-terminating path? I’d like to think so!

Ergo, I frequently explore ‘post-doom sensibilities for the collapse-aware’. If you’re here, and have read this far, I suspect you’ve also a role to play yet.

Together we shall foray heartily through complexity, ambiguity, paradox and doubt—so as to obtain the freshest, darkest and most dubious fruits of ‘wisdom’ for our combined edification and delight.
